LUSAKA RESIDENTS!!! READ THIS!!!!

If you are from Lusaka, Zambia, or have lived there, read this. I'm part of an awesome organization started here in Canada, called Engineers Without Borders (www.ewb.ca), Carleton University Student Chapter. We use our technical skills to help those around us. Anyways, we're doing some research into applying a better light source for a village in Lusaka, and now, we need to know more about the conditions in Lusaka. What's available, what would be preferred etc etc. If you could email me about
* living conditions in Lusaka
* light sources currently available
* problems/improvements with light & power
* sustainable development/technological development in Lusaka
* anything at all about this, email me or follow the thread in the cross-cultural section.

Although not part of the TIG team, I hope to perhaps be the National Capital Correspondent???

Have just sent in a request to help out at the ICWES12 conference to be held in Ottawa in July. It's an international conference for women in science and engineering. Sounds pretty cool and completely up my alley so will hopefully be newsworthy.

Other projects I'm currently working on... I'm involved with the IEEE (A technical society: Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers), where I was Treasurer for the past year and will be VP External for this coming year. We organize events to bring together students and managers/people from industry to network and "mingle". Also provide services to students such as course notes, past exams and printing services.

This summer, we're organizing a soft skills conference for the Carleton U engineering students in the hopes of inspiring their creative side by focusing on the non-technical aspects of engineering.

Now that you are all up to date with my pet projects, shall hope to keep this up and hopefully get some feedback/suggestions to make this conference and other events a fantabulous success!!!!

In the beginning...

This is it. Yet another procrastination tool. Joy!
So far, seems as though everybody with an update page is a major TIGger contributor and as per usual, little miss me decides to "bore" everybody with news from the National Capital. Bear with me, pretty please, as I chug along with daily ramblings while learning more HTML/Flash/Web design????
